Not tryin to diss you or anything back there.. definitely a nice install. I've just used the DEQ before and sounq quality sucks on it compared to a good head unit with the EQ built in (such as my DEX-P1R). 85:1 S/N ratio is nothing to brag about on that unit. I ALWAYS had static when it was installed, even with my amps at minimum gain. with my sub amp at max gain (where I had to keep it in order to get any decent output since the DEQ only has 0.5V outputs), the subs always rumbled and hissed. annoying.

soon as I switched head units and removed the DEQ, my sound quality went WAAAY up. even showed on the scoresheets at IASCA competitions.

I appreciate you sharing the info... I have had the static from day one so I cant say if deq brought it back. But rite now with me gains half way through on the amps, i have no static so far. When I will redo my trunk then I will examine the whole setup again. The main reason I wanted this was to have 3 diff units to fill up the dins :-)
