this may be more involved than what you want to do but have you thought about relocating the battery to the trunk? that would open up a good amount of space to help air flow and also distribute weight better. the only heat shield i have seen is one a universal shield from injen. you could make one similar to the design that frankencar has on their sites but i couldnt tell you what would be the best to make it out off. my car seems to have some hesisation when its warmer outside but it pulls the same unless its like 90 outside.

how can it pull the same between 30 degrees weather and 70 degrees weather?...tongiht at boston it was in the 30's...the car pulled hard in every rpm. when it was in the 60's it didnt pull that good and i can defeintly feel the difference.

also when there are like 3 or 4 people in the car, you can notice a big difference in the pull.

i never really noticed all those things when i was stock, what do you guys think? maybe time to replace the K&N filter? i had it for like 20k mile

i guess i should say that it doesnt pull the same but its not a huge difference. when it gets about 70, thats when i start to notice it more and more. mine seems to run best when its 45-60 outside. i would pull that panel filter and knock it around to remove the debris. i would also take a dry cloth and wipe down the screen in your stock airbox. mine was pretty covered in k&n oil and whatever else dirt got through my k&n cone filter. another thing im doing is going to lighter wheels to essentially remove enough unsprung weight to make my weight in the car void. it will also help with steering, acceleration and braking.
