Which car wins the race ? And why ?

1/4 mile run:

both cars have intake, y and b pipes and aftermarket exhaust.

Car 1 also has ACT CLUTCH and Underdrive Pulley, car 2 does not.

Does car 1 have the advantage and why ?

driver 1 has the advantage as a performance clutch is less prone to slippage as it heats up and allows quicker shifts (allows rpms to stay in high torque range of your powercurve). driver 2 could have slippage problems with the clutch, but a clutch and underdriver pulley are really not going to make a drastic difference. it all depends on driver in any situation. in my opinion, if driver 1 wins it is not going to be by more than 1/2 a car from a roll. if from a stop, it all depends on who launches better, etc. hope this helps a little.

The clutch wont make any difference but the UDP gives car 1 the advantage.

by the way, if you are the car 2 guy and are so pressed about winning this race, just remove your power steering and AC belts. I can't believe we are talking about this though

sounds great

im not concerned about racing in this situation, just thought i would put up a post like this to justify me buying the UDP and act clutch ... what do you think ? maybe it just increases the pleasure and experience of driving the maxima... making it more enjoyable..?

spend your money elsewhere...

your factory disc/pressure plate can support the hp you are putting out. spend your money elsewhere for now. when it starts slipping, then maybe think about upgrading slightly, say an ACT 2100lbs. pressure plate with an organic street disc.

In my case if I am driving car 1, or anyone else for that matter who isnt used to ACT... car 1 loses. ACT is not easy to drive...I am still getting used to it and my 60' times right now arent what they used to be. I think it will all come with time and practice.

but its still to be determined in my eye....

as far as fun factor goes...I CAN CHIRP THIRD...so thats always sweet!!!
I dont know if I would say to get the ACT unless you need a new clutch. Mine was slipping like a b!tch and ACT wasnt that much more than an OEM clutch so I went for it.

I'd say go for the UDP though. RVM and this other company are offering UDPs at decent prices. I am ordering one VERY soon.

The problem with this is that a 4th gen maxima they don't have any belts to remove they are all needed. For other cars and even the 3rd gen you might be able to but not with ours.
