well i went to a race track to drag. it was a hot day in the 80s, and while i was racing the 2nd time my temp went up slightly. After that i let the car sit with the hood open to cool and thanred again ten min later and my temp went up even higher. i let offthe gas and just cruised down the track. After like 3 to 5 min my temp went down to its normal position. It never does this when i drive hard on the road. COuld this be my thermostat..i doesnt take long for the car to have a normal temp. Is it a water pump? Please help me. Thanks

 

have you checked your coolant level yet and make sure you dont have any air pockets in you cooling system the only time my temps gone up is when those 2 things were occuring

 

i had the same problem- it was the thermostat!
