2k2 se vs....

Im always braggin at work how I can somke everyone elses car. So my buddies and I are goin to go at it soon. The three loosers (hopefully) will be a 2k2 eclipse gts, 2k3 VW 1.8t, and a 2ks Sub WRX. We all have manual and should be fun. Think I can take them? Oh and no turns so you cant say the WRX.

wrx = mid 15 second 1/4 mile

you will beat him in a straight line even though his 60' will be faster due to all wheel drive.

If all things were equal, WRX will get all of you guys off the line, but you'll catch up and pass it after 90mph. You don't have trouble with the other two, seeing as they are chick cars

I raced the Subaru 2.5 RS with a turbo and other mods. First on the hight way from 50 up I had him each time not by much. Then we get off at an exit and guess what first stop light me and him go at it. He ripped me a new one off the line. He was literally 3 cars ahead of me in no time and then I was catchin up, but he slowed down at around 65 so I never got to race him full 1/4 mile. Man those cars take off like bats out of a hole.
I really wanted to see if I was able to catch him or not, but I guess some other time

The eclipse shouldnt even bother, better yet have a camera in the eclipse since that car will be in the way back. The 1.8T wont stand a chance unless he's got quite a few mods. Even chipped he should pull on the mitsu but will still no compare to your ride and the subaru. The subaru will win only id he really wants to. He's gonna have to dump to clutch around 5000+ rpm to get a good jump and hold the lead. If he does win you can still talk trash about how hes messin up his drivetrain. If I doesnt launch hard then he wont stand a chance against the 3.5 6spd. Im 75% sure your gonna smoke all 3 of them pretty bad, just dont lose traction off the line and ull most probably smoke them all.

its just a wrx, they arent fast that way. a stock wrx WILL run a 15 sec quarter. you may be thinking STI, which would do some owning. Even if the subaru driver is the best in the world and the max driver is weak, a WRX cant handle vq35 power... he will have you off the line, but youll pass him early since hes got a puny lil 4cyl in there.

old thread wow i bet the race has all been forgotten about. I bet the max is still running strong with the others sitting in the shop or at a used car dealership because the owners traded them for faster cars i.e. Maxima

ive never seen a STOCK WRX go below 14.9 at the track...and ive seen at least 30 WRX runs. STI's and STI knock offs are different. those will go 13. stock, a WRX has no chance.

where does this info come from?
maybe a 14.9 at best.

i know about AWD. ive owned 2 AWD 400+ HP cars. a stock WRX will get walked by a non-turbo 3000gt and 5 speed 00-01 maxs. both run low 15s-high 14s stock with about 5mph trap advantage on the wrx.

ok...thats for a 2002, do you have the specs for a 2000? (he said a 2000 WRX). you should get the specs for the right car. i bet ferrari has made something with WRX somewhere in the name sometime, why dont you just give us the specs for that if youre not gonna give us the right ones?

kthxbye to you too.

maybe the fact that i own 2 NA stealths.

1 is a 91 5 speed DOHC. leather all power options. runs maybe a 15.3-15.7

the other is a 95 NA DOHC 5 speed. cloth and no power options. this 1 walks all over my 00 SE 5 speed.

my maxima has run 15.1@93 with a 2.2 60'

the 95 stealth kept up with my 91 stealth TT when it was stock from 40-100 mph.

you can magazine race all you want but considering between me, my mom, my GF, and 2 friends we OWN 2 00 SE 5 speed maximas, 2 NA 5 speed stealths, and 2 WRX 5 speeds i have personal experience.

unlike the maxima the 3000gt/stealths vary widely in their 1/4 mile times. mid 16s are the norm for fully loaded ATX versions. mid-low 15s are the norm for loaded FWD 5 speed versions. the magazines say the 91 VR4 is supposed to run a 14.3 in the 1/4 but for some reason mine ran 13.7 bone stock. what gives?

Since i have never driven nor seen a stock 3000gt run at the track I have to go off times from magazines so "magazine racing" is correct.

But about the wrx, my buddy has one and stock for stock in my 6-spd (when it was stock) it was a close race he had me from the start but i would catch up in the end. They do run mid 14's with a good driver and high 14's with an ok driver.
