G35 Coupe 18" wheels

Does anyone know what offset these have and if they'll fit the max?

RWD? So what? A wheel is a wheel. The G35 wheels are 7.5 inch in the front, and only half an inch wider in the rear. They'll fit just fine.

In fact, here's an auction for some G35 wheels, with a photo of them on a I30:
eBay

the ones he's talking about are the 18" COUPE wheels...they have a really high offset and the tires are two different sizes...

sorry i am a tire/wheel newbie...

why can't you just put the wider rims/tires in the front then?

or you can buy 2 pairs of front rims and you will have the same offset on all 4 wheels..

am i right?

putting wider rims in front with skinnier in back would look stupid not to mention other things...

yeah I suppose you could get two sets of front wheels but, now to find a shop or place that will do that is slim to none...what are they gonna do with two sets of rear wheels?? They could only sell them as replacements

Just add some serious power under the hood to back it up.

or we could just slap a good RWD system on our cars with LSD and solve all of our power problems..

And jack up the back, slap on a huge wing, and put on wheelie bars.

All the necessary add-ons for FWD power!!!!

Are you SURE you know what you're talking about or are you just guessing? I don't see why a wheel wouldn't fit a car if it was FWD or RWD.

Just called TireRack and was told the FWD/RWD designations are an outdated way of categorizing wheels. Bolt pattern, offset, inner open area, load bearing capabilities, etc. are what comes into play on matching a wheel and vehicle.

Am I sure that I know what I'm talking about???? Dude..the rear wheels are NOTICABLY WIDER THAN FRONT...

Do you think about what you're gonna say before you say it or do you just go off half-****ed and just say anything?

RWD wheels WILL fit on a FWD car. It just depends on the offsets/bolt pattern/hub bore size. If the offsets are okay then you're good to go. I've been running 17x8 Mustang GT rims for over 2 years now. 17x8 30mm offset. http://home.satx.rr.com/jasonr/myMAXIMA/Jeff92SE.jpg

The Rays 18" track wheels ARE different widths front and back. But I think it's only about 1/2"? That's not TOO bad if you run 235s all around but it's not the greatest idea. I would maybe get the wheels and then ask the 350z guys if they wanted to trade their 2 fronts for your 2 rears. That way you can have the same widths all around and the Z guys can have the wider wheels all around. I've thought about this for some time. I think the 350z offsets are good to go at least on a 3-gen. The offsets are something like 30-33. Just right for a 3-gen.

This site: http://www.new-cars.com/2003/infinit...upe-specs.html states that the 18's have a width of 8", with a different tire size, the 17s have different widths.

interesting...you learn something new everyday..its sooooo wierd looking at a 3rd genner with Mustang GT rims....

but I am right in that the rear wheels are indeed wider than the fronts, and I think the rears have a high offset to make them sit even wider

I was told that they are 18x8 with a 30 offset, is that OK or is the offset too small?

What has your research reviewed so far? What rims/offsets do OTHER 5-gens use?

riddle me this batman..how was I proven wrong?...I was right in that the rear wheels are wider than the fronts.....I was misinformed in the respect of RWD vs FWD not being interchangeable....

I know 30mm may be pushing it, but I wanted an answer from someone w/ better knowledge about it.

well there...joker...the original question was will these wheels fit, not if the wheels were wider, that was your statement. My point is, don't advise people about things that you're not sure about yourself.

My wheels are 18x8 with a 37mm offset. The back in pushed in a little and the front is perfect.
So my suggestion if you want to go with 18x8 is get a 30-35mm offset in the back and do a 35-37mm in the front. I believe if you go 18x8 with 30mm in the front the wheels will stick out too much.

I hope this answer your question.

It's too low. Apart from clearance issues you also have the wheel bearing load problem. Too far out and the wheel bearings take a beating. I would not recommend them at all on a 5th gen. Not sure about older gens.

Ok dude...this shall be my last point about this.....by you just saying the above statement just further CLARIFIES MY initial statement, which also has further been stated on this site by other people; that of being that the rear wheels are WIDER than the fronts.... exactly being my initial point of why these wheels won't work on an 02 Maxima...

I don't know about these wheels in specific, but.. I have run multiple sets of 300ZX TT (RWD) wheels on my car.. i run the wider ones up front for traction. they fit the car fine, offsets are close enough apparently because they stick out to the right place, no complaints with those "rwd" wheels on my fwd..
