To all who upgraded to 18 and 19 ...

I am now upgraded to 235/40/18 and still driving around with my stock 16 doughnut. Am I nuts? What have you 18 and 19 upgraders done about your spare tire issue. Should I just get an extra 5th or can I find size 18 donuts? Any thoughts?

keep the donut. You are not supposed to drive on a donut for a long time anyway, so why waste $400 for an x-tra rim and tire to just sit in the trunk?

I'm planning on taking out my spare and making a false floor for my sounds. Probably put in a 12" sub with amps in the space that used to have the spare. That way everything will be flush and pretty.

Hell yeah, I'll be having a good time. I'll be playing PS2 while I'm waiting for the tow. But in all seriousness, I live on an island where you can't go too far from civilization and there's always something nearby.

Anyone else see a paradox here?

Donut

I didn't do anything.
I had a pleasure of riding on a donut for few days, and nothing happened. Keep the spare just in case you need to use it.
Peace

Re: Donut

So, what I am understanding here is in the event of a flat, its ok to drive a few miles until I get it taken care of w/3 235/40/18 and a stock 16 donut!
Is that right?

Shouldn't be a problem. Considering the donut is already a different size from the stock wheels and tires, as long as the donut is somewhat close to the overall diameter of the other wheels and tires there shouldn't be any issues.

Looks like he lives on Gilligan's Island. What he can do is to install the spare tire on the trunk just like an old Lincoln Continental.

your car will pull to one side, but other than that you'll be fine driving on it temporarily
