Brakes question...
Brakes question...
This question may not be very intelligent but...
I'm going to replace my front ROTORS with a new ones...
Do I have to replace also my relatively new front brake pads??? or I can still use them with my new rotors?
Thanks.

It was a judder. I live in NYC, where we start and stop a lot.
But I think the reason for a judder was an over tightened lug nuts.
When I tried to remove a front wheels, I almost could not do it. Then I bought torque wrench and figured lug nuts were over tightened and tightened not equally.
Actually, after dealer replaced rotors and pads almost 2 years ago I thought my second judder was gone forever ƒº...then I went to a crappy tire shop ƒ¼ and I learned about my third judder in a week or so after they rotated my tires.....
So, I don't think original brake pads are that bad. The way shops tight our lug nuts - that is the MAIN PROBLEM.
Thanks.
I have a slight brake judder in my '03 Max. Is there something wrong with the brakes or should I check the tightness of the lug nuts first? It is most noticeable when getting off a freeway off ramp. The wheel shakes as I'm braking. I have almost 600 miles on my car now-this is unsettling to say the least. I traded in a Toyota Tundra because of all the damn brake problems I had with that thing.
I have a 2000 Maxima, started getting judder around 15k, had the rotors turned. I just recently replaced the pads at 30k, was starting to get a little bit of judder again. Took the rotors in to have them turned, and appearantly one of them had a carbon deposit, and there was a half dollar sized spot where they weren't able to get it smooth, to hard to grind away I guess.
Anyway, I ordered some Brembo rotors, and things have been fine so far, but I dont even have 1k on the new rotors yet. I think there is a TSB for the rotors, so you might be able to try that route and see if Nissan will fix it.

If the old pads are fairly new with no obvious
deep scratches/gouges, place some 100 grit wet sandpaper over a very smooth surface -metal or glass plate- and sand down the pads until all surface imperfections are gone.
Be very careful to apply even pressure so that you dont create any camber or curvature to the pads' surface....you will be fine

I just bought pair of Brembo’s front rotors and don't know which pads to put with them, the old ones or buy a brand new one. Olds are still good.
All though, I think Nissan pads are not bad, cause now(since not long ago) they use Akebono's Ceramic pads as OEM.
Thanks.
