Well, I have been in contact with a company that does carbon fiber fabrication. Their main customers have been the Hon-duh/ACK-ura market, but in talking to them, they said that although they don't have plans on making anything for 3rd Gen Maximas in the immediate future, they will pretty much fabricate anything if the interest level is there. They said they'll need 5-10 people to get a decent price AND to get the ball rolling.

With that being said, I threw out a couple of things to them that interested me personally, and was wondering if any other 3rd Genner might be interested in these. Of course, I'll get a pricing quote as soon as I figure out what part(s) we need to concentrate on. That way, we aren't bouncing around from one part to another.

Before I hear the masses do a collective moan, let me say that I'm kinda concentrating on 3rd Gen's for a couple of reasons:[list=1][*]There's little (if any) aftermarket support for us 3rd Gen's but almost everyone and their mama makes parts for 4th/5th Gens..[*]It'll be easier to concentrate on one generation at a time[/list=1]

Anyway, I just wanted to throw this out to you all and see just what the interest level will be.

Once again, I don't have prices yet, but once I find out what we're more interested in, I'll get price quotes together.

 

I think there would be some interest in another CF hood deal! I know i would have the money for one in the summer because I'm the maxi a few other things right now Just my 0.02 lets get the ball rollin 3rd geners, you want the parts now here's your chance

I was just thinking the other day, and I am glad you got the VE instead of the stinky lude.

 

Skyline body kit later or Carbon Fiber hood now? Count the money or party with *****es? Why not both.

 

I dunno.. I still curse every time I have to go out and work on it.. then again, for how much I'd have to do to the lude to make it fast and look decent (WITHOUT RICE), it'd be more work than upkeep on the Max also.

 

True, older cars are much more work. Think of it this way...the lude would start having its problems within a year or so...since they are getting older as well. I was thinking of getting this old beat up 510, but it is going to turn into a money pit.

 

yeah the hood deal sounds nice. I would like blue weave in mine. I wouldn't mind a prive around or below 600. Thanks for looking out.

i would be down for carbon fiber hood w/o scoop unless you have a good photoshopped pic of one with a scoop that fits the car also would be down for power carbon fiber mirrors /w led and carbon fiber fenders(no louvers) as well.
