Sumitomo Tires - HTR Z II or HTR+?
Sumitomo Tires - HTR Z II or HTR+?
I've read a lot of threads on tires and the Sumitomo HTR line looks like the best tires for the money at the moment. My decision comes down to getting the summer version (HTR Z II) or the all-season version (HTR+.)
I'm in Southern California so I don't have to worry about snow/slush/lots of rain and the summer tire should perform better but I haven't heard anyone recommending them on the .org. Everyone who has suggested Sumitomo has the HTR+ but they could all be back east and need the snow capability...
Anyone opinions on which one to get?

If you don't have to worry about weather then the HTRZ-II hands down. All season vs dedicated summer tire is a no brainer.

If you live in Cali, give the HTR Z a chance. I've had HTRZ II, HTR+, and HTR Z. The HTR Zs were by far stickiest tires I've ever owned. The HTR+ comes in a close 2nd.

Dave you found the the HTRs sticker than the Zs?
I didnt really have time to live with the HTRs but I felt some sidewall flex in 18"s HTRs which well while not a baaaad thing it was disconcerting on an 18" tire, so I'm happy with my HTRZIIsbut... Ithink I'll try the Yoko AVS ES100s next!
Whats the cheapest place top buy the sumitomo HTR+ all season tires in 235/40/18. I have been looking at these tires for about a year now, and I am ready to buy them, but I want to try to find them cheap. Cheapest so far is 125$ each.

you will LOVE those AVS ES100's, their a GREAT tire, the best ive ever owned, those will be my next set. Too bad they dont offer them in stock 215-55, only in 225-55, or 225-50...
