100+ Octane Gas...

Yesterday night, I pulled up to a Sunoco gas station and saw them selling a 100+ Octane gas for like 4 dollars and change per gallon.
And it said "street leagl" on the pump.. What's that all about?

Anybody ever tried this before?
Does it noticeably improve performance?

Just curious...

It does for race applications. Maxs don;t need this unless you have some major mods done.

Yeah it's good to use for large amounts of nitrous.

Sr20 is right. Not al unleaded gas is for street use. I have used 100 octane gas in my stock max and it is useless, unless you are squeezing what SR20 does. I used to run Sunoco 94 in my Stang all the time when I lived in NYC..... The best I can get at the pump here in Cali is 91... I hate this POS state , except for the weather !

91 oct sux. I have to use race gas with the nitrous on my Stang now, I used to be able to run stock timing on a 120 shot with the old 92 octane. I ran pump gas last Friday at the track and melted another plug

First of all, gas is gas... doesn't matter if you buy it at Sunoco or Mobil or BP. It all depends on the octance level.

Buying race gas (at $4 per gallon?!) and using it, without having the mods that need it or running it on the strip, is a HUGE waste of money. Doesn't run any hotter... just a waste.
