couldn't do search-Q on tires

I can get some 18in inkeis dirt cheap. What width is it ok to put on my my 2k Max?

I think 18x7 should be ok, but what tire size should go with that? Looking for max grip but no rubbing.

With 18x7, you should use 225/40/18. Some will probably even say 235/40/18 will fit.

An 18x8 wheel will also fit, and use a 235/40/18 for that, while others will arguably say 245/40/18 works too.

I see you went with the 235 on your 18's. Which by the way looks nice. Do you notice a performance difference compaired to the stock?

Yes, there is a definite difference. The handling is much better, although I "track" the grooves in the road sometimes. Not very often though, so I wouldn't worry about it. But yes, I noticed a particular difference in wet traction too. I flew through a 1.5-2 inch deep puddle of water (probably a good 8'x6') at 60 mph and didn't miss a beat. I didn't see the puddle and before i knew it the water was spraying probably 7 feet into the air. Wet traction is more dependent upon the type of tire you get and not so much on the size, whereas the handling is size dependent.

But do you think 225 vs 235 is that much different? Its almost $50 per tire to go up a width.

If your wheel is 18x7 I would go with the 225. Do you know what stock width is? I noticed a pretty big difference when I put on the 235 over stock.
