Just got my Eibachs on my 2k2.
Just got my Eibachs on my 2k2.
No pics yet, but the ride quality is great. It handles significantly better and seems to work well with stock struts.
But there is something weird here. I measured the ride height before and after.
Front:
Before: 27 1/2"
After: 26 3/4"
Total drop: 3/4"
Rear:
Before: 27 1/2"
After: 26 1/8"
Total drop: 1.375"
Why the hell is the rear drop more than the front? I thought Eibachs were 1.3" in the front and 1.0 in the rear. This seems to be reversed.
Anyhow, it looks good and rides great, so I am happy, but that seems weird.
Oh, thanks HitManSE for doing the install for me.

sup...im gettin the prokit drop for my car too....well your prob could be that they possibly put the rear springs in the front and front in the rear...that happens sometimes..people dont pay attention...or the springs just need to settle..it takes about a month..but that wouldnt make sense sayin that the rear is 1.3" when its supposed to be 1"...so my guess is that they put um on backwards.

Have you seen the springs on a Maxima? It would be impossible to mix them up. The fronts are twice as wide as the rears.

OMG thats some funny ****, I assure you that the springs were installed 100% correctly and not backwards. It looks alot better then be4, as to the weird drop yeah it definetly is wierd. The front has like 1 finger gap more then the rear does but the ride is amazing. Not harsh at all, feels just like stock to me. Just lower and takes the corners a bit faster then normal. Definetly an improvment over the OEM suspension. Im riding on Teins right now and I can definetly say they are stiffer then the Eibachs, but that might be from the Toks I got. I dont know how the Teins would be on the stock struts.

I was soooo damn stiff, to the point were you avoid pot holes at all cost. The smallest imperfections on the road were shaking me up. Now its alot smoother, I kinda wish the handeling didnt fade with the roughness but oh well. Goin west on greenway I now avoid the middle lane when goin thtough the intersection on 7th street. If I go over 55mph the cd player skips

Actually, the Eibach drop is exactly the ride height I was looking for, but I just wish it was a little more even. A half inch isn't really not that big of a difference, but I just found it kinda strange that it did that. I knew the drop wasn't going to be perfectly even, but to have the rear drop MORE than the front??? That's odd. My stock suspension sat perfectly even to begin with, so that is probably why it happened. My 2K front end sat 1/2" higher than the back at stock height.

It's hard to gauge whether or not they are too stiff because I had the KYB AGXs on my 2K. The Progress Springs are definitely sweet, but I didn't want the front end to drop as much as it did before. I saw a pretty good deal on some Eibachs and I took it.

If you look at the bottom of the car, it is level with the the ground. The reason you have more gap in the front than the back is because the rear wheel well is slightly smaller. Look closely and you will see it. The look of being lower in the back is an optical illusion.

Nice! Mind if I ask how much $?
Re: Just got my Eibachs on my 2k2.
hmmm... maybe you have them on reverse!?
hehe
Either way, I've always like eibachs the best. The drop was great on my 2k and they handled great but were a bit too stiff for GLE struts. Should be fine on an SE. Either way, you should eventually get aftermarket struts for the best ride/handling. Show us some pics soon
edit: i'm a moron, as usual I don't read the whole thread
