I still dont understand how it works...the filter sits closer to the exhaust manifold than a pop charger

excellent... sounds stock under 3k rpm then it sounds nice! after that. In fact, it's the main reason I wanted injen. If it made more noise it would attract "wifely" attention and she'd b!tch about driving the car. This way she doesn't even know it's there because she rarely, if ever, breaks 3500rpm... but I do

Frankencar is quite abit louder. Injen has a more low-tone powerful sound. Sometimes it really sounds like a V-8 (well kinda, I can wish can't I ?)

you sure about that?? the filter looks clear from the manifold to me...it actually angles off to the drivers side under the battery tray-->

You are correct, and it also angles off to the side of the radiator fan. I don't see how people say injen is "hotter" than frankencar as they're both still under the hood. Frankencar is trapped up among the engine/hood/fender and injen sits closer to the ground (about 12 inches from the road to the center of the filter), just above a plastic deflector but much closer to 'cooler' air. Neither is "perfect" but I'm sticking with my injen.

Ceasars Chariot: I have heard frankencar and it's louder than injen. Like I said, more quiet is the reason I got injen. The wife knows I did something because she hears me leave for work each day but she doesn't know quite what I did, and she doesn't need to
