New Y-Pipe Noise

I've had my Budget Y-Pipe on my car for about 4months now and I just noticed that it will occasionally make a strange noise.

If I accelerate to about 4000 or 4500 rpm's and then let off w/out shifting the Y-pipe or some part of the exhaust makes a rattling/vibrating sort of noise as the car slows to about 3000.

Does anyone know what this might be or what I should check for? I remember reading once that often something sometimes needed to be bent out of the way of the Y-Pipe for noise, but I'm not sure what it was and do you think that is what is causing this???

Thanks in advance

I just installed my Warpspeed y-pipe recently, and it may sound strange, but my stock b-pipe was rubbing after the install. I initially thought it was the cat heat shield since this has been discussed before. I cut some of it where I thought it might be rubbing (right at the y-pipe/cat junction), but that didn't help. I was getting a sound right about the time you are--after letting off the gas. After listening for a while, it sounded like it was coming from further back on the car. I backed up on ramps to look at the b-pipe. I could see a place where it was rubbing on a heat shield, and cut some of it away. If you can't see any rub marks, shake the b-pipe side-to-side and see if it hits anywhere. I'm thinking mine may have been rubbing because of the b-pipe/cat hanging down for a few minutes during the y-pipe install. Hope this helps.

Mine makes a similar noise. When I get out of the car, and have a friend rev it, it sounds alot like just really fast flowing are through the flex section. Maybe its just me, but it's almost like the exhaust starts to vacuum for a split second after letting off after a strong rev. Just a thought. #ELL I don't know.
