Went to the track today, got some better times :)

Hey guys, what up?!

Just headed out to bradenton motorsports with some fellow org.ers and some neons (many SRT4s). Well, i finally got myself into the 14s. A 14.983@90.52 w/ a 2.111 60FT. I dont understand why my MPH was so low (anyone know), compared to my almost 93mph 15.01sec run, and considering i have a Y-pipe. But it was hot out, im happy anyways

Also, i should have been in the 14s long ago, but some people know of my tire problem. Im running 205/55-16 CLASSIC RADIAL (yes, thats their real name) tires, with a 560 treadwear rating, they came on the car from the dealer, and i havent replaced them yet. So i think a 2.111 is absolutely great, considering...

2.11 60' is amazing on street tires. Almost sounds a little too good to be true.

2.11 is really good. Most people can't pull 60's like that in a maxima. More torque + good technique = good 60' times. GTPs cut 2.0 60's on street tires too sometimes. Same goes for th SRT-4, they have gobs of torque.

Where are you located. 90mph is low for a stock maxima, let alone one with y-pipe.

tell me about it, i was disappointed with the 90mph..

I live in Spring hill FL, about 1 hour north of tampa, it was about 85+degrees that day too, i know it had something to do with it...

I dunno how i managed, but i had just dropped the tires to 20psi, launched at 3K, slipped the clutch slightly and just nailed every gear ( i couldnt power shift though, it was like the tranny wasnt letting me) and i left it in 3rd and redlined.. I wanna go back during the night when its slightly cooler and see what i can pull off. But the MPH is definately concerning me...

Because, like Neal said. Most people can't pull 60' like that in a Max. I have only heard of one other person pull those kind of launches. What a SRT4 does has nothing to do with your car. I was giving you props(with a hint of skepticism). Were you able to repeat that lauch on another pass?

no, that was my last run (track closed), my 60Fts were getting better all day, i came from a 2.4. My previous run before that was a 2.2, thats when i finally found out the technique that i described above...
