For those with ST Sway Bar Kit

I'm curious to know if you people with the front and rear sway bar kit from suspension techniques think its worth getting both. i'd really like to start working on my suspension and get it real stiff.
does the front sway bar make a noticeable difference? or should i just get the rsb?
right now i don't have any suspension mods but soon i will be doing the struts/shock/springs. once that's done i'm going to do the sway bars and fstb. and if i feel creative enough try and create an rstb.

When I installed the front and rear sway bars and took it for a drive I felt a big difference immediately.

ST front and rear sway bars go for $229.00 at shox.com but you can call and try to get a better price there or even try Stillen where I got them for a good price also.

The front and rear bars, hardware and bushings all come together. Before you install the rear bar get some heavy duty washers welded around the holes in the brackets coming off of the chassis of the car. This reinforces the thin stamped factory brackets for the rear drag links. They WILL eventually break under the tention of the rear bar. Both of them have broken a couple times EACH on my car. The one on the right side had to be completely replaced the second time with a hand fabricated one, then welded to the car. This is a pretty well know issue with them. Do it right away before one snaps when you hit a bump in the road and wonder, "What the heck was that?"

The stud on the drag link will bang around in what's left of the hole and mess up the threads making it even more difficult to fix after they weld up the bracket. I am so familiar with this problem that I even bought a rethreading die at work for the thread size of the studs on those drag links. When it pops I can fix up the thread right alongside the road! Trust me on this one. Save yourself the aggrivation later. Get it done when you get the bars installed. Not later!

Man tell me about it...

I never had that problem on my auto though and then randomly one day on the 5spd I got this horrific banging. I was freaking out cuz it sounded like my strut had destroyed itself.

Anyways I just took the drag link out cuz I couldnt stand the banging/clacking (and it was embarassing)...but now the swaybar itself comes up and hits the spare wheel well (I guess or something under there).

Grr..

The link itself seems to be fine, it's that bracket welded on the car that's mutilated. The hole that the link goes through is totally busted out

How/Where did you get a new custom bracket?

Try the front strut tower brace. It made a very noticible difference in handling. My favorite mod. Adds very little weight too.

I would go with the ST up front, and get an Addco in the rear. I had the full ST set and wished I had the thicker Addco in the rear. Made a huge difference, though... kept the car more planted to the road and even helped with my steering feel.

The service dept just cut one out of some steel plate they had laying around. Bent a 90 in it, drilled it and welded it on.
My rear anti sway hits my cat back. I put on new rubber hangers on my exhaust and I don't think it's doing it anymore.

Where did you get your ST front bar from? shox has it listed with the front & rear. Do you call in for individual pricing?

I'm not sure if this is a good one, but this is the front strut brace I bought from ebay.... what are everyone's opinions about this? It's pretty damn cheap, that's for sure.

I think I remember that I ordered mine from A&E Honda... ???? You should be able to buy them seperately. If not, you shouldn't have trouble selling the rear one anyway.

The performance gain from the Addco pays for itself, anyway... so if you don't sell the ST rear then that's okay because you're still getting quite a bang for your buck as far as handling goes.

Mine handled so well and I pushed it so far that I practically ripped the rear end off of my car where all the rust is in the trunk!! lol

No, but really... great mod.

The whole point of the 00+ one is that it fits the VE...

3rd gen specific FSTB's fit the VG, but in turn the 00+ will also fit the VG even though there's no need to have to use it like us VE guys

oops! time to ground the vtcs again.

from what i've been told the 00-01 fstb fits the vg fine. but it needs to be modified to fit the ve properly.

I had a problem on a '93 GXE and a '94 GXE with the Airconditioning line using a 00-01 bar. I removed the bracket the holds it to the wheel well, and just tightened the bar down. I guess its ok..

can anyone help out a poor 92 se owner with the rear ST sway bar installation. i bought the front and rear kit and all the hardware that came with the rear one, doesn't seem to match up. first off i wanna know for all those who bought the ST rear bars, did it come with the stabilizer links or not? mine didn't and may be thats why i'm having trouble figuring out how all this hardware goes together. plus the damn thing came with $hit intructions. there's only one page and each line says "refer to diagram", but there are no diagrams to be found anywhere

if someone could may be point me to a website that has instructions on installing the ST rear bar that would be great or if someone would be kind enough to email me their instructions with pics that would be super. i've seen the progress and addco bar instructions online but that doesn't really help since each one has diff hardware sets.

IIRC, nopi has just the fronts and the whole set.

as far as the FSTBs go, my 00/01/02 FSTB fits my dad's 97se fine (bent the brackets slightly because of a rib or two on the strut tower) and when my 92SE is back on the road it'll fit that fine (again). so i'd assume that 89-03 strut bars will fit VGs and 4thgen VQs.

RSB link..

after this pic i added gussets to make sure it doesn't just bend under load.

you can't see it from this angle but the actual link itself is also reinforced at the base.

if this falls off now the frame is going w/ it.

I had the same problem....you cant do it unless you have the right instructions/pictures. Matt gave me some pics on how to do it but i cant for the life of me find them anywhere. I'll go take some now. can you receive huge pics via email? email addy.

Has anyone tried the Cattman rear anti-sway bar? Just wondering since they seem to have a pretty nice deal with their titanium FSTB too.

I don't know if the install for the addco RSB and the ST RSB is the same. But is here is a link to detailed instructions for installing the addco RSB. http://www.dreamwater.org/auto/lordr...o_install.html

The problem I'm having now is that the endlinks? (the part that hangs down from the trunk) are rusted on. I think I can break them loose, but as I apply force the bracket starts to twist. I don't want to break off the bracket (added expense).
