Warning about the Megan Racing catback, it's made to fit a 97-99 I think.

The Bpipe is about 5" too short for a 95-96. If I recall correctly the 97-99 have a longer catalytic converter? If that's the case this exhaust is made to fit a 97-99 but a 95-96 will need to do something to fix the fact that it is 5" too short. I kinda mad right now. I was hoping to have this thing installed and done with today. I hope I can get to my apartment without getting a ticket for my exhaust being too loud. I'm running no exhaust from the test pipe back right now

That sucks, what do you think you could do about it? BJJ could not get his cat bolts off but i wonder if he will have the same problem?

It's an easy fix but it still sucks. I'll just have to get about a 5" pipe made to bolt between my test pipe and the B pipe. It will probably only cost me a case of beer because I know some guys, but it still blows. Hopefully I can make it back to my apartment tonight and to the shop in the morning without getting a ticket.

That's good to know. I think bjj also reported that it needed an O2 bung in the B-pipe, so that would lead me to believe it is for 95-96. But from what you're saying it sounds like it doesn't fit anything.

If you were to get pulled over, I think a cop would probably give you some leeway if you had the b-pipe and muffler sitting it your trunk.

Make sure it is even the right cat back applicaton.

I have a 97+ Greddy on my 95 and the only thing I needed to change was the tip length to fit the shorter 95-96 bumper, and also get an O2 sensor plug.

I've got it installed, it's definately for a maxima, the b pipe is just about 6" too short.

More Info:

The inside diameter of the pipe is 2.25" measured with a caliper at both ends of each piece of piping.

The tip sticks about 7/8ths of an inch out from the bumper. Appears to be centered well in the stock bumper cutout.

The 95-96 Max has the 02 sensor in the cat, the 97-99 has the o2 sensor behind the cat (in the B-pipe) so I'm not sure what's going on here. It'll be working tomorrow.

I took a few pics of the exhaust whilst I was installing it. Check them out here:

Wait so its on your car now? How does it sound? And the diameter of the piping is 2.25" instead of 2.5" like i we thought?

I just got that muffler. Doing a custom 3" exhaust, seems to be of nice quality.

its on my car but its not connected to the engine. there is a 6" gap between the end of my test pipe and the beginning of the b-pipe.

How about if you cut your test pipe and extend it...I think you can use the same flange to connect it to the Megan exhaust b-pipe.

Good idea. I'll probably have them do that since I'd rather have them hack that in half than the exhaust itself.

Well I havent tried to fit the b-pipe on mine yet, but if it is anything like what nealoc has experiencd, I will be giving Megan Racing a call and letting them know exactly how I feel about the whole situation.
