Resonator

Would I gain any hp if I remove the huge resonator on my 04 max?

i thought resonators just held in sound and no real performance affected... not 100% on that but i'm pretty sure that's the case.

you DO NOT want to remove the resonator on your catback, especially with a Nissan V6.. unless you're already deaf.

Remove the resonator and you'r exhaust will definitely be loud like a harley. Especially if you have a y-pipe

But in theory removing the resonator will make it more freeflow..

i removed my resonator and i also have a y pipe and 2.25 b pipe. taking the resonator off did increase sound but barely since i still have the stock muffler on. it was cheaper to get my b pipe without it and you can always add one later if you dont like the sound.

I removed the resonator on my '89, there was almost no sound difference.
