SPec V vs. an 02+ max

These ricers get

Its not a race of carlenghts, but BUS lenghts! Then again, most of them are teenage ricers, who cant drive, and even that doesnt matter, they run mid 15s? not even a chance...

You arent one of those ricers that think your spec is super fast and un beatable do you???

Well, from my point of view I wanted to own a 02 SE-R. After all, i have a 92. Then i drove it saw the interior and read how the 2.5 sucks so, im a hater. the only good REAL SE-Rs are the 91-97s, 200SXs included. Anything after is

I have been looking around this site for the past few months and I have to say this is a stupid question. A max will own that weak *** Spec any day.

I have an '02 SE-R. That little thing is fun and fast. If cloning were possible, I'd race myself.

Usually, my girlfriend drives the SE-R, but she drives it like a granny, so I don't think it'd be much of a race. Gotta love her, though.

IMHO the only REAL SE-R's were '91 to '94 B13's.

Kinda like the way the 3rd genners feel about their Maximas. Same car only smaller.

I think its a pretty quick car, maybe not for a 2.5 tho. I almost got one, but I'm glad I didn't since I got my max for the same price!!!!

I was just being nice. The BEST ones are 91-92s. 93+ have smaller cams, then again my SE-R has S4s and 150+ WHP and weighs 2100 lbs....Mmmm S4s

What? Got links?

I agree the TRUE SE-R is 91-94, but I thought they were all the same. I didn't know the cams were different from 91-92 vs 93-94.

Try www.se-r.net or www.sr20deforums.com

The cam changes happened in mid year 93, the cars still had the same redline till 94, but just a touch smaller *i think* intake cam only. The B14s had even smaller cams and lower redline. You could but a 91 intake cam in a 95-97 SE-R and gain almost 8 WHP!

I never heard that about the cams. The cars had the same rated hp, were every bit as fast and had the same rev limit as the '92 (7500). I had JG cams in my '92 and it didn't peak out until about 7200.

The new SPEC V's have the same motor as the Altima 2.5S, with alot less weight and an HLSD to keep the power on the road. Lots of right now torque for a car that size.

That said I spanked my friend's 02 SPEC V with my 94 SHO automatic. In a straight line they're not that quick.

My SE-R is done being NA, T28, 4-bar, 370s, along with my S4s should yield me close to 300 WHP, i am going to start collecting turbo parts this summer!

Why? I dont want a 400+ HP car. A little turbo with cams would make for a great track car. Too much power on the road course is no good. WHat would u recommend?

I'll have to :read: up on it.

I've read about sticking a B13 cam into a B14, but never any difference between a 91-92 and 93-94.

Are you planning to use an aftermarket SS header or the OEM FWD one off the Sunny GTiR? I heard that car was built on the B13 chassis. AWD B13 Sentra NX2000 anyone?

I have to see how my NA motor fares this year with road racing. It burns a some oil and i have a stuck spark plug

I might just get an avenir DET next year, we shall see..

DET? Why if you are staying below 400whp and using a T28?

You'd be better off buying a low mileage SR20DE and putting a F-max kit on it.

It would make for an easy swap that's why I would do a DET. All the parts are there. As for the Spec V What a POS red seat (2002's)ricebox!
IMHO the 91-92 SE-R's are the REAL SE-R's because they don't have the fabric in the interior and a sub 7,500 rpm redline like the rest!
Real men drive the 91-92's.

Well, i can get a DET for like 1200-1500, its going to have all the parts I need minus a front mount. ANd, with cams, i should have high 270s HP wise. As for an Fmax kit.. I would love one, but have you seen the prices! Like 3500-4k! Ive ridden in t28 cars and they are FASt. Thats the way im going..

You don't need a DET for that little bit of power. Save your money.

I highly doubt a 2K2-2K3 Auto will run 13.8 without some kinda of Forced Induction or Slicks if anything...
