Scopium... That's BS! If the car is in warrantee you have to be forcefull! Go in and ask for a "Nissan Rep" contact. They hope you'll just go away, that's why they responded the way they did. I went into my dealership and told them I did not buy a car at this price for ****ty front bumper paint that chips and is known to chip. You need to come off like a "he's never going to go away if we don't take care of him" type. Be stern but not out of line (inappropriate language does not work). I just said "this is unacceptable quality for nissan and unacceptable service by it's dealership... I want it fixed and I expect you to stand behind the product you sell and call your flagship! We can either take care of this here at the dealership or we can get a rep in here to answer for this? It's up to you..." It also helps if other customers are within earshot. They removed the bumper, painted it, gave me a loaner for 3 days, and NO MORE CHIPPING. I also recommend you get involved in the class action suit against Nissan,,,

Paint chips are one thing, and there are TONS of threads here on how bad it is on the 5th gens and Nissan not doing anything about it. Now as for the paint discoloring on the bumper, that, I would take back because any kind of fading, discoloring or rusting should be covered under warranty.

I have 37k on my 2k Max. I have the Nissan Extended Warranty, but I don't think that is going to help in this case. My entire back bumper is flaking off. It looks terrible. I can live with the chips on the hood for now, but the bumper is just plain ridiculous. What should I do?

Fight! That's clearly a surface prep failure prior to painting. Go directly to a Nissan Rep through your dealer or through your extended warrantee policy...

My front bumber has over a 100 little chips in it. In most cases, you can see the black plastic bumper underneath. It looks as though the primary culprit is the soft plastic and not so much the paint as the plastic gave way to the whatever had hit it. It feels like sand paper in a way, not very unpleasant. I've also noticed this same problem on the rear of the car, just in front of the rear wheel wells, where the side skirt flares out a little bit. That piece got very abused as well. While the paint on the metal surfaces also have some chips, they are few and far between. Is this something that Nissan should (would) cover or is this something that I'll just have to accept.

I also have a 03 max with all kind of little paint chips out of the front bumper and right in front of the rear wheel... I'm going to try to get them to repaint the front bumper under warranty!! We'll see..
