*sigh* pulled off the ventvisors last nigh

and all my fingernails are gone

I have nothing but nubs left

BUT get this...I have less wind noise

*sigh*

the sad part is---the dang double stick tape has dried to an ugly crud on the silver part of the door trim so it's REALLY obvious

I don't want to use wax and dry out the black trim

I wd40'ed it to death and even used silicone spray and still wasn't able to get it all off

I'm sure by this evening after sitting in the hot florida sun the remaining tape will have the consistency of a rock

the doors also look nekkid now

Goo Gone might work, but you may have to go to an auto parts store and get some automotive adhesive remover.

3M adhesive remover will do it. Or just heat it up with a hair dryer. I'm planing to get those ones where you don't need double sided tape at all. They go under the rubber part thing.

WD40 also does wonders to loosen up the grime and then you can scrape it off with a fingernail.

A little kerosene or gasoline also does wonders.

ms. thicknes.... Just to warn you, the weathertechs are nice, but after 2 months the coloring has faded from a charcoal color to purple. I don't like the way the purple looks. I'm thinking about taking it off.

You'll be fine till the 1st time you want to crack your window in the rain...

A while back I was pipming the WeatherTech's to you. I thought that is what you got sorry to hear you having probs with the Fletors.

If you use rubbing alcohol don't paint you nails yet and use a rag with your finger pointing into it so you don't get any on the paint, just on the "silver part" If you rub the paint with alcohol you'll start removing the clear coat then the paint too. While this method does have its downs as listed it will work pretty good and save you a trip to the store.

I have a couple pics of the weathertechs installed on my car on my homepage, page 2 I think. They never faded for me and I had them on through last summer in Phoenix. I took em off, because I like how it looks without better. Especially the back windows, because they already dont go down very far.

I don't have any pics. I could take some, but with the rain we are having in NY the purple will look dark. I rather show you the color of it when the sun is shining through.

If Y2KSESteve doesn't have any fading in the Arizona heat, then maybe mine were defective?

I've had mine on a year no fading here either. They're the same gray as my 35% tint, very close match.

Ms. Thickness...

AFTA* (not the after shave ) works WONDERS on glue, gum, grease, etc. I swear by this stuff. It will not go through paper, but it will wipe up sticker residue like wiping up water.

You can get it at Home Depot.

BTW, how did the neon work out? I must have neon in every car from now on...I guess I'm just a ricer
