driver-side Bose speakers cut in and out

today i noticed that the front and rear speakers on the driver's side seemed to be out so i fooled around with the Balance and Fade and i found that they werent completely gone but it sounded like they were blown. After a while they seemed to be working perfectly so i messed with the Balance and Fade again and they sounded normal.

i know ive read about some people who have had problems with their Bose speakers. what i was hoping to find out was who has had a similar problem as me and how did you go about getting the dealer to believe you (since it seems like its a problem that isnt always apparent)

when it was fixed did they inform you about what exactly was the problem? if so, what did they say?

thanks for any help

Actually the problem has been mostly head units, not the speakers themselves.

Yea, I got the same thing. And now I have a list of stuff Nissan must fix for me. The head-unit, wind-noise and the Lack of power. And I thought my car would not need to any repairs already!!

the problem is the head unit......go to the dealer, explain your trouble, tell them you want a unit assembled AFTER December, 02....it was repaired in those units...I had mine replaced, system sounds great now!

to reproduce the problem

just bang on the headunit with your hand, that should get it to cut out (it's how I used to get mine to work again - it would always cut out after hitting a bump).

There is a TSB for the bose headunit in 2k2 Maxima. When I went to dealership the radio had just started back working, but I explain the problem to the service writer & he just pulled up the TSB without listing to it & it said replace the headunit. He just ordered another & attached a copy of the TSB to it.
