2K rotors rusting and rubbing

About a year or so ago I started hearing a serious rubbing coming from the front end when I turned the car hard in either direction at low speeds. The rubbing was loud and it sounded like something was warped because it was an interrupted metal on metal sound.

I took it to the dealer and they fixed the problem for $150. It turned out to be the inner diameter of the rotor (the part that the brake pad doesn't touch) was so rusted that it was rubbing against part of the suspension.

Well, it's happening again. I fixed it myself this time. The rust was bad!

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything that could or should be done to keep this from happening? Do I have inferior rotors?

Dan

If you clean the rust all off, paint them with some high temp stuff, or caliper paint, that should keep them from rusting. Im kinda suprised the 2ks didnt come zinc coated from the factory, I know on my parents 2k2 have some sort of coating.

I am having this same exact problem. I hear a rubbing when the car is cold and I turn the steering wheel at slow speeds. I changed the front brake pads. since 2 were cracked. This might be what the noise is !
