CAI/ram air kinda deal... good? bad?

using my stock air box, i found that if i remove the front piece, i could connect a tube to the opening and feed it down so that the other end points out towards the front of the car, which should act as a "air scoop." i was wondering if any of you guys have done something like this? it seems that this setup would collect outside air more easily than any other setups, and that less of a vaccuum would be created, as air would be rushing into the airbox. any thoughts?

Oh yeah! First off, the engine got louder, and the car itself feels more responsive... but beware, the airfilter will get dirtier than a hoe in a gangbang!
