Anyone know how to replace the bulb that lights up the little seat heater switch light? I noticed mine was no longer functional last month. The heater still works - just not the light that tells you the heater is on.

 

I believe it is an LED (light emitting diode). Take out the switch (you may have to remove some paneling/molding), and you will be able to see the outer cover of the switch. Pry that off gently (or do whatever you need to for removal) and locate the LED. You can purchase a new one, pretty much any color you want, and de-solder the old, re-solder the new one. Make sure you put it in the right way. Make note of the direction of the gap (inside the bulb there are two contacts and a gap between them. One of the contacts is slightly larger than the other. Make note which direction the larger one is facing and make sure to install the new light the in the same manner) and voila!
New LED installed.

This has happened to me. It's not an LED. It's a regular bulb. I went to a place here that I buy electronic parts from and bought one that was similar in size. It only lasted for about 5 months. You just need to get a bulb that will handle the 12 - 15 volts and replace it. The old one needs to be unwound from the holder and no need to use a soldering gun. If you put a LED, it will blow because LEDs are made for much lower voltage. You can put a resistor on the line for the light, but you will have to use a tester to find which line has the light. Also, if it's the same wire as switch power then it might make the switch not turn on the seats. I just live without the lights, they bug me at night anyway.

 

I actually prefer LED's—last much longer. I did this to my brother's Max for an external mirror blinker. Your local electronics store should know how many resistors and how much resistance you need to drop the current from 12 V to 2 or so. Willrob is right, though. If the light is in-line with the switch, dropping the current may affect the switch's operation.

I bought a 12V microlamp from Radioshack and wired it inline with my corners on my Honda. It has lasted over a year and a half so far, and it comes on whenever the lights are on.
