Uneven Brake Pad Wear
After 20k one of my four front Porterfield R4-S pads is completely gone. The other three still have a couple thousand miles left on them. I installed the last set myself and am wondering if I did something wrong. I used the Nissan shim kit and replaced everything. Is this normal and what can I do about it?

I believe the guide pins are the metal "sleeves" that is enclosed in the flexible spring boot. The caliper bolt is bolted to the guide pin. Am I wrong? Anyways, you should take out the guide pin, clean the boot, and regrease the boot and pin when replacing pads.
