Leather Cleaner/Conditioner

I have use Meguiars in the past. The separate cleaner then the conditioner. It worked very well and I kind of liked the smell it left behind. I have heard a lot about Lexol so I went out and bought both of the products--cleaner & conditioner. To be really honest I think the Meguiars left my seats softer. The Lexol cleaner seems to work better, but the conditioner is definitley not as good IMHO.
Are our Maxima leather seats just not that soft to begin with? I have a 2000 SE and I have noticed on the newer Maxima's they seem to be much softer than mine. Anyone else notice this or have any ideas on how to get my leather softer? thanks....Jon

It would leave my seats soft, but I would have to wear one of those SARS masks to avoid the smell.

If Lexol isn't working, an alternative is Leatherique.

I love that foam mequires stuff. Cuts your time in half and you will not leave any residue behind.

the leather seats on the Maxima are softer on the 2002-03 Maxima than the 2000-01 Maxima I believe Nissan changed their leather supplier in the 2002 model year for the Maxima or it could be the new seat design that accounts for the difference in firmness. Still though the leather on the 2002-03 Maximas are still firm but not to the point of feeling like vinyl. When I use the Lexol conditioner it makes my seats more softer. Just my .02

How much of the conditioner do you put on? Do you use a damp rag/sponge when cleaning like Lexol recommends?
