FSTB Won't fit right.

I got a Matrix FSTB from eBay, and was about to install it. Things being as shady as they can sometimes be on eBay, I decided to check to make sure it would match up before I started taking things apart. It looks like its too short. I put the base of the brace up to the top of the tower (where the three bolts are), and none of the holes lined up. I'll get a pic up later with the hood up and the FSTB where its supposed to be, but did I get cheated, or is it "supposed" to be that way, and I should just take the bolts off and try to mate it up. If cheated I'm should be able to get my money back from the seller right?
Thanks

The listing said "should fit any 95-99 maxima".

Also, most strut bars have a screw adjustment to shorten or lenghten the bar, you might need to unscrew it more to lengthen it.

Ok... here are the pics of me trying to line it up. Regardless of length, the holes don't seem to match.

lol why'd you pay $26? most FSTBs on eBay have a "buy it now" option for like $15. just look for those

I'm sure you have, but did you try turning it around the other way? In other words, have the open end on the driver side tower.

He definately has it backward, turn it around! The bar is suppose to be closer to the rear of the car.

The FTSB in the pics does not look like my eBay FTSB (for 1995 GLE). Yours positions the bar too far forward. Mine positions the bar closer to the struts' centerline, and the bar sits up against the metal A/C line. I think they sent you the wrong one.

I bought this one for $26 b/c it was supposed to be a "Matrix" FSTB. I'm assuming the same guys that make the aftermarket foglights.

To everyone that thought I had it turned around back wards Na, that's like one of the first things I did. I tried turning both ways a couple of times, but what it came down to is just the fact that the holes didn't line up.

I called the guy and he said the brace is for a 3rd gen. He was pretty cool and shipped me a new one for free, and let me keep the old one. Too bad though. The one I bought looks and feels twice as beefy as the one he sent to replace it. So if any one needs a stout FSTB for their 3rd gen let me know, we'll talk.
