The flywheel itself is made from 6061 T6 tempered aluminum for high strength and light weight. Friction surfaces are 1050 high carbon alloy steel, which will stand up to any clutch material, from organic to Kevlar to sintered iron and are anchored with abundant quantities of the best aerospace fasteners, with incredible shear strength and corrosion resistance. Ring gears are heat tempered and secured with grade 10 fasteners. All machining is done on precision CNC equipment.
