I have a 98 SE w/ 29,000 and the manual says I don't need to change these yet but it doesn't sem to be running as smooth lately. What plugs and filter do you use, nissan parts?

I would change the fuel filter if it has never been changed. The OEM spark plugs (NGK platinum) should be good to 60k, but you could inspect them anyway. I would also replace the air filter and check the throttle body for carbon deposits. Good luck!

You probably won't need to clean them. SInce your car is under warranty I would take any "unclean" plugs to show your dealer. You shouldn't just clean your plugs and call it good (assuming they're dirty-which I doubt), you need to fix the problem. As long as your plugs are gapped properly and clean, you will never need to change them. 60K is just a recommendation...

oil & plug changes

If you use SYNTHETIC oil change it (and the filter) once every 6,000 miles to stay well within the 7,500 mile interval most manufacturers set. Synthetic oil won't break down in that distance but will get dirty.

Spark plugs? I love my BOSCH+4 Platinum plugs. Improved gas mileage. With 4 negative electrodes they should easily last 80,000 miles.
