My max has been sitting for a while but when i tried to take it for a ride a few weeks ago it was very difficult to switch from Park to Drive. It was even harder to get it from P to 1 or 2. What's causing my gears to stick so much? After the car was warmed up and i drove it around for a good 15=20 minutes, the shifting problem would go away.

Does it have anything to do with the fluid needing to be changed or an indication that the transmission is gone? Now the car won't even start although i am not sure the two are related...

check the tranny fluid level and if it looks brown change it right away.
