warspeed Y-pipe Y Bpipe 20hp gain? 2k2-2k3...

Can anyone in here attest to these warpspeed claims? Or claim/experienced a significant gain? Thinking about it w/a stock muffler and resonator- any info will be appreciated

i think on the earlier 5th gens (2k-2k1) they showed significant gains... but i hear that on the 2k2-2k3s.. it's very minimal...

The generally consensus here is that the Y-pipe doesn't do squat for the 2002-2003.

Y-Pipe for the 2K2 will not give any HP gain - 1-2 maybe.

Don't know for sure about the B-Pipe, but I think it helps a little. I still don't think you'll come out to 20 though. I have a 2K so I'm not up on the benefits of a B-Pipe for your car.

Thanx- I'll try the B-pipe and an R/T cat for now- Warpspeed website
specifically states that gain on their 2k2-2k3 Ypipes when using
their Bpipes- but the dyno link below doesnt work- bull****ters-

save up...dont 'get the R/T cat...stock cat is flowing enough, especially since you're not gettin a y-pipe. clear those 2 crush bends and get 2.25 or 2.5" piping and you should be as clear as you can get, until you get headers or whatever.

The stock cat on your 2k2 is more or less brand new and is high-flowing as it is. I installed an RT cat on my at about 40k miles, and it made absolutely no difference.

I installed the custommaxima straight pipe and noticed no gain. Maybe a hp or two if dynoed.

[snicker]I know why the Y pipe doesn't show any gains. It actually shows a loss. And I know why!!![/snicker]

The problems with the Y pipe not showing any gains are as follows:

1) Unequal pipe length.
2) The O2 sensor for the rear bank actually gets mounted into the front pipe... This is why no gains are shown. This throws off the air/fuel mixture because no reading is being made off the rear bank. I found this out when I had my 02 on the rack the other day. I've got a call into WSP to see what they say about this.
3) O2 sensor placement... Even if it were placed in the correct pipe of the Y, the location of the sensor isn't within 1/16 of an inch from the stock distance. This causes the readings to be taken at the wrong section of the Y pipe, which throws off the air/fuel mixture (see #2). I'm calling about this too.

I've got the specs from a shop here about how to fix it, I just need to see if it's possible (the local shop couldn't make the necessary bends), and to see what WSP says about it.

I'll post a new thread when I know more.
