Flywheel Upgrade

I was thinking about swapping out my stock flywheel for and Unorthodox Racing flywheel. Its half the weight of the stock flywheel and free's up 5-10 horses. I was wondering if anyone has a lightened flywheel and can give me some personal feedback on the performance changes.

It's a great mod and I felt it immediately. Don't buy an Unorthodox you should contact Matt93SE and buy a Fidanza from him, he's selling them for $350.00 shipped.

You can always do a manaul swap and then buy a flywheel and make that pile a little smaller

You just read my mind. My tranny won't last to much longer anyway. Considering the fact that I've got 159k on my Max and the previous owner never did any kind of service to the tranny. I went to a tranny shop and they said my fluid was burnt and very brown. So, I'm really sacred to do even a drain and fill.

Drain and fill will most likely result in killing it faster. Do a swap and buy a flywheel from Matt

My thoughts exactly, do you happen to know how much a tranny swap is likely to run? Since a rebuild is gonna run about 2.2k I figure why not.

I think with 2.2k you should be able to do it, the ideal thing would be to buy a manual parts car since that kinda has everything you need for a swap and the new parts which are the clutch kit, flywheel and fluids. I know maximum tuning in Long Island NY charges about $900.00 for labor and thats to remove the auto and put in the manual.

Very simple transaction. I would of bought one myself from Matt but at the time I purchased my flywheel he didn't have them and if he did, I could of saved $50.00

email me at blehm@utulsa.edu for info on the flywheels. I'm checking on pricing on clutches to see if I can get them going at a decent price too.
