Sunroof Protector... OFF

I recently pucrchased a 96 Maxima with a sunroof and it has some kind of black visor just ontop of the sunroof. i think its to stop the wind or something. But i think it makes the car look ugly as hell. It seems to be held on by a VERY VERY sticky double sided tape and i think if i rip it off the paint will come with it..

Anyone have any ideas on how to get rip of this thing?

Thanks for any help

It's a sunroof wind deflector. With the sunroof retracted all the way back, the wind noise will be louder with it off than with it on. If you want to get rid of it, unscrew the two screws on top of it. That will release the hooks that grab onto the car and you can just lift it off from there. There isn't any double sided tape to mess with.

Well i checked it out and its just a plastic visor put on with double sided tape. I just waited until the sun baked it a bit and pulled hard... came right off and did nothing harmful to the car. a wet cloth and some water and it was good as new.

nismos14 if you still want it you can have it. But shipping is going to be $$ its shape is not the best for shipping prices.

Wonder why it was held on with tape? The factory one just screws right on.

I have the same one made by Deflect-a-sheild.....it just uses dounle sided tape.

I bought that one because it was lower in profile than the factory one.....
