How many miles have you seen on a Maxima??

Hi all,
I am in the market for a used car and I'm seriously considering a '94-'96 Maxima.
I have noticed however that they can be a little pricey. Which isn't really a problem for me as long as the thing will last.
I've owned 2 4-cyl Honda's, one 4-cyl Camry and a 4-cyl Toyota P/U. As most people know, these vehicles will (and some of mine did) see over 200,000 miles no problem (aside from brakes, shocks, exhaust, etc)
How many miles can one expect out of a reasonably well maintained 3.0L Maxima? I know that all the vehicles I've listed have 4-cylinder motors, and the Maxima has a V-6, but I've heard some pretty good things about that particular engine.
Any insight is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ivan

Well, the Maxima's engine is definitely good for at least 150k miles. It may go 200k.
But to compare Nissan's V6, which has good reliability, with a Toyota or Honda 4-cylinder is simply unfair. Toyota 4-cylinders can probably go 250k miles with no oil at all! They are that tough.
Basically, even if a Maxima is just as reliable as a Camry, it will cost more to maintain. But I think most people here feel the performance edge the Max has over an Accord or Camry makes the increased costs well worth it.

if you go to the Yahoo
2nd gen. Maxima club, A new guy just sold his 1987 maxima with the factory transmission still good and engine, it had 450K miles on it and its still going as we speak! Thats a lot of miles on a car . Proof shows that the nissan engine can really hold its own.
Several months ago when I was shopping for a Max for my GF, I came across an 89 or 90 auto.. with 690,000 miles on it. original everything (except tires and brakes of course!)
I got the previous owner's phone number, just because I was amazed.. when I called him up, he said he drove all across the country, all day, every day with his job. it had never been to the shop for stuff other than routine maintenance.
not bad, if I do say so myself!

I think I saw the same 95GLE in Chicago I forget which dealer but it had over 300,000 miles on it. The guy drove to Texas and back several times a month. I talked to the mechanis and he said that it still had the original tranny and the engine is good as new.
just test drove a 95'Maxima SE today with 10400miles on it, runs great, everything works except for one very slipping clutch when we speedshift it. felt like as we were going on ice, RPM is going up but we still at the same spot, other than the slipping clutch, I love the car and itz only going for $5700.
