thought my hood judder was fixed
thought my hood judder was fixed
I made some adjustments to my rubber bumpers and hood latch and my hood judder problem seem cured on my '03 SE. Not so, it seems. yesterday while passing a SMV I hit some turbulence and the hood jumped so hard it startled me. I actually thought it had come unlatched for a split second. My hood's alignment is very good and gaps are small. No broken glue joints. Why don't all maxima hoods do this? I had wanted to avoid having anything glued to my HIDs, guess the time has come to bite the bullet and get the TSB.

I have the same thing, I tried adjusting the little rubber stops and it didn't help at all. Actually, it made it worse because the hood sat too high up on the sides and didn't line up smoothly with the side fenders. And the rattle was still there.
my '03 SE has the little rubber bumper near the latch from the factory. Raising the rubber bumpers can make judder worse since it slightly increases the gap above the HIDs allowing even more air in. Hard to believe that a 2003 model has this dopey problem. Does Datsun test their designs in a wind tunnel or what?
nope .. they don't .,.. that's how they can offer the base SE for a ridiculously low price like $19,999.00 once the cars have flooded the market... you get what you pay for . and the Maxima SE (base) isn't worth a penny over $20k brand new....
