1995 Max SE 5-spd 166,7xx mi. I am the second owner and the car is runing great! No problems over all yet had a code for a o2 sensor pop up a few months ago but after reseting the ecu and ordering the part . . . no more codes so I have a o2 waiting till the curent one dies fully. ride is still firm and controlled and though it handles a bit slugishly compaired to a smaller sportier car I love it! One spring in the shifter is dead and needs replacing and the leather on the wheel is peeling but nothing major so far.

Woww, this is DEFINETLY better feedback then I thought. Not that I doubt the reliability of a Max, I guess I'm not familiar with owning japanese cars with high mileage.
So then.........would anybody know if $6400/neg would be a fair price for a 96 5-speed with 99,700 miles on it? Or should I try to shoot down lower? There car looks in fairly decent condition with the exception of a missing passenger side foglamp. I checked the VIN on carfax and it came out good.

1995 SE here. I got about 107,xxx and the car is running top notch. I replaced the diff bearings around 70,000 and the starter around 100,000 but thats it. Overall its in great shape. Oh, I'm the second owner BTW.

Hey everyone, thanks for the advice and feedback! You might be thinking to yourselves "why is this guy with the 03 want a 96?" I wish I had bought the 6-speed and had a very good opportunity to do it because a few of them were on the lot at the time, but I guess I figured the auto would've been just as good. Now I just miss out on the fun of shifting and figure I still have a chance. I don't know, we'll see what happens.
Any other prices that seem fair for this?

135,000 on a 95 SE.
Had to replace the alternator 1t 130,000.
Clutch at 130,000.
Rear O2 sensor at 127,000.
Nevertheless, I love this car and I look forward to buying an 03 6spd in a couple years.

95SE 5sp with 360K miles
and it pulls harder than my 97se 5sp did with 70K
I am baffled but very pleased.

VQPowerSE, around $5,500 sounds fair since you'll be expecting some repair costs, but no more than $6,000. I got my car about 2 months ago (automagic
) and I already replaced the axles, tires, pulley & belt, and now going to replace the suspension. Planning on replacing the knock sensor soon too. After the suspension replacement, all of the repairs will total about $1,300. No wonder my parents getting mad
I think ivolley just bought it from someone else. The previous owner had all of the service done at a Nissan dealer

95 SE w/ 220k kilometers. Just replaced 3rd gear along w/ the syncros and the main bearings in the tranny and two brand new axles. So, I just spent ~$750 in the last week or so but, the car is more than worth it.
108k and nothing too bad. O2 sensors on Max's are expected. I've replaced most of them already. PITA. LF wheel problems, but that side has taken a beating twice: some chick drug her front bumper from my front bumper, across the fender and wheel and to the drivers door; a piece of plywood kicked up from under the wheels of a rig, did two flips and flew across a lane of traffic and hit the LF side of the air dam and the wheel. Other than that, which isn't the car's fault, a rear seal needs replacing soon as it is leaking ever so slowly. blah...
