Celica GT is probably not all that fast. 140 hp if I remember correctly. The GTS is much faster though. The GTS is 170 hp and comes with a 6-speed manual. Those would be pretty quick.

Celicas don't come with 6 cylinder engines. Both the GT and GTS come with a 1.8L I4 engine. I just checked and the GT engine puts out 140 hp and the GTS engine is tuned to put out 180 hp.

the GTS' are quite fast tho.
i don't know if a GTS can beat a 5sp maxima, but the GTS does come with a 6-speed(yes, 6, hello nissan~~~) tranny....

Another race I had..

I did race my coworker's auto GTS and it did give me a rough time from dead stop but cannot keep up once the max goes into overtime. I do have to say that the if you race a stick GTS and might be a good race with both the auto and stick if and only if the GTS driver knows how to use the toyota engine.

Also, I actually rode in the car while my coworker demo his new car to me and true to nature that the toyota engines are known for that it needs to be high revved to use the HP/Torque. He floored his auto GTS at around 50mph and nothing happen except for the engine revving high. Nothing like when we floor the accelerator on the MAX is it wants to fly away...LOL.

laters..
