1.7 60' Finally and a 12.1 @ 109 MPH

1.7 seconds isn't a very long time but it took me a long time to accomplish it.

Broke 4 of my records today.

1. N/A is now a 14.7
2. 35 Shot is now a 13.1
3. Fastest time is now 12.1
4. 1.7 60'

Should have tried the big shot around 11 AM when I did the N/A and 35 shot runs it was much cooler and not as much humidity. Next time I will keep that in mind. Also had mega wheel spin on the 150 shot and because I let the auto shift itself it immediately shifted to 2nd because the RPM was up over 6k but then the wheels started to slow and it bogged quite a bit so I think I can improve on that if I reduce my slick pressure. Was running 15 psi for the 35 and N/A runs and thats too high for higher HP traction.

Wanted to make another run but eliminations started and I went back to my 35 shot for bracket racing. Got eliminated first round, I broke out with a 35 shot running a 13.3 @ 90 MPH standing on the brakes at the end. MORE PRACTICE get your sheit together Jime.

PS All those times today were also with full interior. Trunk was empty though.

The guy I lied to about my HP on the dyno. Actually I just have a bad memory, can't tell torque from HP. Anyway good to talk to you and your Dad today and hope the 240 works for you.
Hope I got that all straight with my bad memory. I will happen to you too someday.

Congrats on the time. That is VERY impressive!

What are you doing on launch to achieve a 1.7 60ft? You still on the stock TC?

So if I get this right, the 35 shot makes 1.6sec difference over N/A? That's incredible, very sweet times.

Thanks, yup still stock TC with just Ben's drop resistor mod (Thanks Ben, its still the best bang for the buck anywhere.)

I just brake torque to around 1500, nail it on the 3rd yellow and hit the nitrous at the same time. Don't let go till I cross the line. Today it actually shifted into O/D about 200' from the finish line, thats the first time I had that happen. Last time I ran the 12.4 I had the O/D off so I was on the limiter at the end.

Very impressive on the stock TC Jime! You keep setting the limits with such little amount of mods. When I had the same mods, I was never able to run such a time, I oculd never grip. Oh well. Bring home those 11 sec time slips! Best of luck.

Man, with a freakin 100 dry shot of the NOS kit and regular 15 inch steelie rims/tires and automatic, I was only running a 13.6. Then, with the same kit and the 5-speed in it last summer, I only did a best of 13.5 when it worked........You suck Jime.....j/k......Congrats man, that is completely and utterly amazing.....

jime, do you use an SAFC to control your fuel? what other electronics (if any) do you use to tune the nitrous with?

Wow, if you do some weight reduction I don't see why you couldn't hit high 11s. 100 pounds = .1 seconds in the 1/4 approximatly, right? Great job.

VQDriver I have the S-AFCII but its running stock settings until I can get a proper wideband hooked up. So no tuning on the A/F and I am running the NX suggested Nitrous and Fuel jets. The only other thing I use is my OBDII reader to watch mostly timing and engine temp.

GuestNX you are right on the trap speeds compared to MardiGrasMax. My car will never run that fast but that is the difference between spray and a S/C or Turbo. They make power up high and it just keeps climbing the higher the RPM, with spray it makes all its power down low and keeps getting lower at higher RPM's Thats why spray is so great out of the hole.

ch13f, my car now weighs 2750 race ready so I have done quite a bit of weight reduction, just not sure how much more I can do and still keep it a grocery getter.
This is a picture of my 11 lb battery and it has been permanently installed for the last 2 months. Its a gel cell from a 400cca starting battery. Most folks that look at my car think its a stock battery.

Considering he has spent approx. $1800 too run low 12's, I doubt he would want to spend close to $1000 just to save 50 pounds IMO.

Actually I have some cheap 11 lb seats like the ones Summit sell, cost $125 for both with covers.

Matt you are right a CF hood is way out of my budget, you know me tooo well. Considering doing a homemade fiberglass one though.

You could probably break the 11.99 mark with a 24in slick and a 3in exhaust. Given that you are spraying over 125whp worth of nitrous, a 2.5in catback would definitly choke the engine in the midrange and up top. A muffler shop could fab up a 3in catback for around $130-180 and you could just keep the stock muffler and unbolt it for the track. Hell a 70mm TB should help you power wise also, mardi had some good gains with 3in exhaust and the 70mm TB.

Considering the fact that NX is rated at WHP and that Jim has not tuned the car with wideband as of yet. I dont belive this is his limit as of yet, the 24" diameter slicks will give him up to 115mph to finish the 1/4mile. That should be good enough to run atleast an 11.7sec pass...

Yep stock internals, hell I think he's still runnin the stock intake manifold as well. If its tuned perfectly a 150shot is fine, the 3.5 could take more though
