how many of u w/ modded max's drive w/ the 'check engine' lite on?
i do, but i was wondering how many others have the light on also. not talking about stock max's now, cause if it is, then there's probably a good chance something is actually wrong 8)
do you know exactly what the code is? What I mean is, are you only assuming that the lights on because of a mod and that it really doesn't matter, or have you checked into it and KNOW it doesn't matter?
With CAI and y-pipe, I don't have any check engine lights.

Yep, you should not have a check engine light on,
even if you have all the mods since none of them will set it off, most likely you have a bad o2 sensor some were, just run a diagnostic and see what you come up with and fix it.
Get this
I had the light on about 2 months ago before I did any mods. It had been on for about 2 years as I had ignored it after the dealer had reset it twice after I got the recall notice regarding this light being on w/o any other symptons. Last month, after installing my intake and mandrel bent tubing from the resonator back and a new muffler, I diagnosed the trouble lite and came up with error code 35 stored in the ECU; I reset the light and after about a month of driving the light has not come back on. Error code 35 points to an EGR temperature sensor malfunction, but since the light hasn't come back on I'm not going to look into it further. The car has always performed well and I haven't noticed a change in gas mileage so let it be.
This is kinda off topic but IMHO: Both of the Nissan dealers' service departments that I've been to in my area SUCK big time; I've found them to suggest repairs that were not even needed. In my mind, this is the biggest problem Nissan has. I will probably not buy Nissan next time because of it and I do like their products. I bring this up because of a thread I read today from some poor person who sounds like they were about to get taken for a ride with suspect repairs.
