If you are saying that your friend got busted going 70 in a 35, yeah he's screwed.

He SHOULD be shot, but they will probably spare him that.

damn....double the speed limit=reckless driving which is basically one step below a DUI in terms of penalties and what not...

your friend needs to get a lawyer and hope for the best, and be prepared to pay out some hefty fees...

35mph over the speed limit usually gets your car impounded, you a ticket, and your *** has to walk to the bus stop to get home... he got lukciy if you ask me.. but he can look forward to a $400+ fine, depending on where he's located.

I dont think it gets that bad. Well to some kid i know (17yrs old maybe) was goin 100 in a 55 i think. His ticket was like $300, he was searched, but got to drive home in his car. Maybe cuz its not DOUBLE the speed limit- but oh well, be careful.

i remember when i got a ticket when i was 16 i had to go to a safety class. the instructor asked a kid to share why he was there...he got pulled over going 95 in a 25 and didnt even get a reckless driving ticket (thats the reason i was there; 80 in a 55) i was so mad.

I don't see why he didn't get his license suspended for doing nearly 4 times the speed limit. My brother went 98 in a 65 and got his license suspended for 6 months.

and what kind of 25mph road has curves that can sustain 95mph? How did he stay on the road? Any tiny curve or bump would spell big trouble.

Well, I got 69 in a 35, and the cop told me 1 more mph over and I'd have been walking home... me AND my girl (now wife)...

I got off with a $90 fine though. This was in Chicago.

no one said anything about curves. but he said it was 25 because it was right in front of his school and "it shouldnt be 25"

Yeah...what a fricken idiot! I have a 2k, a 91, and a car that eats Maxima's for lunch.... and have never had a speeding ticket. Not that I'm trying to toot my horn, but this guy should loose his license and pay out the wazoo.
