passed fed emissions today!

I was getting worried, but in the end, my baby passed handily. I have: Y-pipe, JWT ECU, MEVI. Mainly I was worried about the Y-pipe since this was my first testing with it on (Ohio E-check every 2 years).

Results: HC 44.7 (120 limit), CO 0.06 (0.67 limit), CO2 14.99 (N/A).

I have heard that in some states 1996+ cars will simply get OBDII scanned for anomalies in lieu of the tailpipe tests. I read the Ohio instructions before I went for testing because my JWT ECU logs a permanent EGR error. In any case, yeah, it is good to know the Y-pipe will not make you fail. Just make sure your car is in tune and warm the car up before you go.

Good News! i plan to be going in a month or so and i'm a little worried. nice to hear you passed with no problems. what is the HC in the results? also is there a decible level for exhausts? i think i once heard if its to loud they will not pass you...anyone?

HopingForAmax:
get a 4th. i think the are the best moddle imo. but im biased . take your extra cash and buy a few mods =] it'll help you deel with the fact you don't have a 5th gen.

My car doesn't have any major mods like that. It always passes with extremely low levels. My HC and CO are both around 2% of the maximum limit.

Yeah, the Y-pipe definitely does hurt me but not enough to pass. My previous emissions test had HC (hydrocarbons) at less than 10% of the limit and CO at less than 2%.

In my state, only emissions is tested. Most aftermarket maxima exhausts do not cross the 95dB threshold of acceptability. Someone said their greddy tested out to be 85dB and that is one of the louder ones.
