Well, I'll be keeping the Maxima for a few more years...
I just bought a house! My GF and I decided to take advantage of the low interest rates and got a big house for well below market value (people problems), so now we can start writing everything off on taxes and getting screwed by the government a little less. After a few years, I'll be able to get my E430 Sport.
So The Org is still "home" for a long time to come.

6.75%. Eben, you are welcome to stay at our house when you come down. We have lots of twisty country roads around us- perfect for the Maxima. And we already got lots of stuff from Home Depot. And today, my GF's father gave $500 in Home Depot gift certificates to us, so we're set for a while.
Where's the new pad Micah?
Did you guys stay out in the Cumming area, or is it farther out or closer in to the city?
Just curious.... of course now you're going to host a Maxima.Org BBQ or something this summer, right?
Congrats on the house man, very cool!

Ahhhh yes, the wonders of home ownership. Home depot is becoming a little too familiar to me, and weekends are never free. Oh well, it's a great feeling isn't it? Owning your own home?

Congrats on the house. Be aware that you will sink a lot more money in that sucker than you figured, but if you can do a lot of the work yourself you'll save a ton and make good money in the return. I bought my first house last July and my wife, my parents, and myself slaved over the house for 4 solid months. As you "update" you start to find more things that need to be changed. In the past four months I've:
grown lots of new grass
pulled up carpet and refinished hardwoods in 5 rooms
painted every square inch of the house (inside and out)
installed 5 new columns on the porch
re-did a bathroom including subflooring
new bathroom fixtures
I had professionals do:
mudjacking for the rear concrete patio
new carpet in our huge 20'X19' family room ($1200!!!)
Currently:
I have ripped up my entire subfloor in my masterbathroom and I can see my washer and dryer in the basement
Spring:
Grow more grass
All out landscaping and garden
Even if your house is in good shape, you'll want to cater it to your liking. It's never ending and you will live at Home Depot <----- God, I hate that place and I even own stock in the company. Ironic isn't it
If I hadn't bought this house, I could have easily taken my $40K and been sporting a Z06 Vette, Audi S4, or M3. Oh well, a car is a crappy investment. I'll just have to wait till I find some sucker selling his 1 year old WRX.

SUV? Nope. Not even an AMG ML55.
The house is only two years old, and we got it because it was in perfect shape, and I've already done the little bit of cosmetic work that we wanted to do. We aren't into fancy Better Homes & Gardens stuff, so I don't plan on doing anything else (kill me if you ever see me at a home show!). I'm a four-walls-and-a-roof kind of guy.
It is in Cumming, just a few miles from my current house (which we rent from my dad). We will definetly have a Maxima party (S4s, too!).
