Attn Dave B... where did you run the shopvac hose...
...for your air box mod intake? I put my stock airbox intake back in, but just removed that "L" connector piece between the ram air intake and the resonator box under the battery. My question is... how did you get the hose out to beneath the bumper? Seems to me that there is no place for it to go....
There are two splash shields under the front of the Maxima on the driver's side. One goes under the nose and the other covers the driver's side front wheel well. I took a pair of scissors and trimmed a little of each of these shields where they meet and I ran the between them. I mounted the hose next to the driver's side tow hook and I drilled a hole in the hose and screwed it into the under nose splash shield. From the top, the vac hose straight down behind the fans and then goes in between the splash shields.
I hope this all makes sense. My next project is to develop a scoop to direct the air into the hose. The hose does work though because I've found sand (for the snow) stuck in my filter.
