Anybody have any pics with 18"s and Teins?

I have the Maxspeeds/GR2 setup and want to get rid of the wheel gap.

This is what I have now.

My pic in OT has teins and gr2's. It will knock the wheel gap down too around 1.5-2 fingers all around and looks perfect. I will try and take a up close pic like yours above once it quits raining here...

you could always go 245/45/18 Dave and be done with it-you'll have NO wheel gap at that size

Doing springs would be about $500 cheaper. Also keeping the correction factor closest too stock with 245-40. I think 245-40 look meaty enough. 245-45 would look kind of silly but its just my opinion.

blue...2k2nyc has 245/45 and I don't think they look silly at all...look's quite nice....then again only a couple manufacturer's make that size and consequently it's quite expensive....

I myself have never seen it but was just picturing the difference in 235-45-17 and 235-50-17.

I think you have 3 options.

1. Get new spring that would drop you some more.
2. Get bigger tires, which might not look right.
3. Get bigger rims like 19's or 20's.

Now after these 3 choices I think that the new springs by far is the cheapest.

I think it looks fine, but then again I know what it's like when something is just not rubbing you the right way.
It annoys the hell out of you.

Anyone have a 18 x 7.5 with a 235/40 tire on it? This is the combo I'm getting and I'd like to see how it looks with my Tein drop.

Why would you guys want a 18x7.5 instead of an 18x8?? I would think that a wider rim would give you better handling.. If my factory rims were 17x8's I would luv.. The handling of my car was very noticeable with the 18's too.. BTW 17x7 looked like A$$ on a Tein drop.. IMO of course..

yup spta with the wrong tire size there will be more of a gap...

you need to go 245/40/18 or 245/45/18 for no gap

I want to go with the 245s but it doesn't seem like they are in spec for 7.5" rims Every place I go does not reccomend that size but rather the 235/40/18.

245 is within spec for any rim 7.5" or wider...I'm waiting on delivery of 245/45's for a 7.5" wide rim

no specific link, but this is what you do to get answers.

go on tirerack.com, search tires by size

enter 245/40/18 or 245/45/18 (doesnt matter)

pick any tire that comes up and click on "specs"

there it will tell you rim width

you will find 7.5-9" rims are good

hope this helps

I checked the 245/40/18 Yokohama ES100s - they require a 8-9.5" rim width

235-45-17 has been proven too work just fine on stock 7" wide wheels. So with that said and facts there 245-40 will work just fine on 7.5" wide wheels.

Teins with GR2's wearing 245/40-18" Nitto 555's vs. Eibachs with stock Toks wearing 225/45-17" Dunlop SP8080's .

I did a measurement from the mid of the driver side door to the pavement and the tein drop is about 3/8" lower than the eibach drop. I have about a 1.5 finger gap all around also.

Even that isn't accurate because I have alower profil tire than stock. A realistic number on the same tires would be about 1/2".
