Where o where to mount the MAF on a boosted car??

I've heard mixed things and seen mixed things.

On the stillen supercharger kit the mafs is mounted right after the throttle body, to keep the same readings as a stock car.. but on some turbo kits its mounted near the intake filter after the turbo??

I've talked some of the 5th gen guys who say they want it on the n/a side of the piping (So-to-speak) closest to the throttle body.. but most of the 4th gen guys don't have issues and have it on the turbo side (not close to the throttle body).

What is the best location on a turbo'd 4th gen?

On your 4th gen put it where the s/c keeps it.

well there is some questions.. I do not know the "term" but it refers to letting off the throttle and the car rpms dropping so low that the car dies.

MINE, is located in the same place as the SC and I have had zero problems...

BUT, it is food for thought.

And why did stealin move it on the the 5th gen?

For a 4th Gen under regular boost, I would say that it doesn't matter. We already know that the 4th Gen MAF can take it because Mardigras has gone up to 15 psi on his with zero problems.

But, if you had a 5th gen, which we know you don't, you would want the MAF on the turbo intake side.

I think you can see by now , but I also say on your 4th gen put it as close to the throttle body as possible. I have seen somewhat long term double digit psi's on stock maf with no problems, up to around 18psi (havent tried any higher)

Thanks for the info guys.

So is the reason it's on the intake side on the 5th gen because the 5th gen MAF is more fragile? I always hear about blown 5th gen MAF's and never a 4th gen.

Thanks for asking the question. because I couldn't search on the topic. So we all agree that on a 4th gen we can put the stock MAf right next to the throttle body.

So far with Matt (Mardisgras) pushing 15psi there seems to be nothing.
