i know it seems dumb to ask, but the blocks are the same are they not? they can be swapped w/o a problem? if so what is the advantage to the se in those model years(besides one that is stick)and last newbie question, if the difference is in the programming in the ecu, will an se ecu in theory make a gxe rum like an se? i personally havent been in any other max besides my pars car(90 se 5sp), but thats not driveale, so i wasnt able to test the theory out, plus its stick, so that wouldnt make it fair. in case youre wondering where im going with this rambling, if there is a differance btwn both ecu programs is it possible to just swap them for the extra power without any consequences?

 

The SE offered a tranny option of either a 5sp or Auto while the GXE only offered the auto. Also, the SE has a slightly firmer suspension.

Other differences are that the SE has:
* OEM fog lights
* OEM spoiler
* body colored grille and black colored mirrors and trim

 

theres no point...same block, no differences in power(160hp), only ECU difference is one is for 5spd and one isn't

 

thats what i thought, just wanted to make sure. ill probably keep the block, since it only has 90000 miles on it, just wanted to make sure it would work if i did that. thanks
