Can anyone describe the sound of the Hella Horn Supertones 2-Horn set?

I'm about to buy PCGurU's Hella Supertones Two Horn setup for $35. I asked him and searched the org for the sound they make, but can't really find a straight answer.

The stock horn on the 4th gens emits a girly "beeeeeeeeeep". And I only have 1 horn left out of the two so it really sounds vaginaish. I want a deeper, richer, dominating sound that doesn't scream, "I am woman hear me roar". Comparing it to exhaust notes, I want a horn that will sound like my car with it's dual exhaust setup, not a 1.6L Civic with a fartcan.

Feedback is appriciated.

Hi Craig.

The 2002+ Altima / 2004+ Maxima horns sound pretty good on my car. Cost me nothing too.

Dude, I am still mad at Jambo to this day for not saving that clear/red taillight thread....what was it, something like 4,800 posts and 20,000 looks? It was one of the biggest threads ever, and it was deleted. P!sses me off man.

That was the best thread ever on the org. I had soo much fun in that. Memories Memories of when SprintMax wasn't such a pr!ck

So the hella horn doesn't scream I have a vagina/woman hear me roar like the stock 4th Gen horn does?

Craig, to add. It has a different tone than the OEM and is a bit more directional. If you stand to the side of the horns they're pretty loud but if you're directly in front of it it's LOUD.

Not teeny sounding or anything either. It's.... i dunno, manly?

Well, the horn in Sliders vid isn't the sound i'm looking for, it's a little too high pitched.

It doesn't sound like that in real life. For some reason when recorded it sounds higher pitched than it is. I had the same problem when i tried recording the sound in the past.

That's weird.

I was just thinking about it, and I don't even know if I have room for them. One of my horns was removed for the supercharger install, so I don't know where i'd put this horn. I have a CAI for the compressor and my washer fliud reservoir is set in my regular CAI spot on the right side of the engine, so I have no idea where i'd put the new horns.

Interesting you also mention that, i saw Tan (Tanman)'s install of the Superhorn and his installer made custom brackets to fit them infront of where the S/C was - then again he had a 5th gen so i don't know how much different that would be.

As for the recording, my hunch is most video camera's are made to capture voices thus it's sensitivity to higher pitch sounds. Perhaps it's just not capable enough to capture the lower registers?

I'm thinking they might be a cheaper (only $30 for a pair of high and low tone horns) alternative to the Hellas.

From JC Whitney's catalog...
