9-16 HP... every maxima owner would have one if that were true ! do what they did, find and old rusted out swing set and cut you a section out of it and throw it on the max ...lol ! dont pay a dime over 10 dollars for that ... or check out the custom maxima test pipe with resonator if you want to use it on race day!

Don't waste your money and time with the mid pipe...at least not until someone comes up with a more freeflowing resonator. Read this -> http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....5&pagenumber=7

In addition, I've been told that this will fail your car during a smog check. This replaces your catalytic converter and will definitely set off the CEL.

Wow ok I did not check the ebay link until just now. I thought the mid pipe that you were refering to was the intake midpipe. The thread name is misleading. This is not the midpipe but rather the test pipe or race pipe.
Anyways, that would be a good waste of $60 the negligible performance gain does not justify the increased polution you'd be spewing.

It is not good, it is not good for environment, and what it does it replaces your Cat Converter. If you want to race people or plan buying it use it in track only other then that takes it off. You will never pass inspection with that M pipe.....

From the Ebay site:
"This is a DIRECT REPLACEMENT to your Catalytic Converter. So it will also make your car weight a little LIGHTER!"

SO you think the Cat Converter would be that heavy?????

to that
a friend of mine got one...dyno'd before and after, and actually LOST power throughout the powerband.

that may be a bad example...and maybe even unique to his car...but don't expect more than 1hp from that crap.

also, have fun when you get a $1000+ fine when the cops see that crap on your car.

do you think the 1hp gain is worth the pollution/emission risks/possible fine if caught/cost of pipe and installation?

if you'd risk all that for 1hp..then go for it
